Hobbies and Interests

I moved to the High Desert when I was hired to teach at Apple Valley High School in November 1988, I taught there for 10.5 years and then taught at Granite Hills High School for 3 additional years. While teaching high school during the day, I began to teach at Victor Valley College in the evenings. I taught part-time at VVC from June 1989 until I was hired to teach there full-time in August, 2002. I have served as math department chair since Feb. 2008.

I have been married twice. From my first marriage to Carla (1992-2000), I have two children, Matthew and Bailey. I married Anna in 2002, but we separated in August 2007.  She moved back home with me in May 2009 after she graduated from SAGU with her BA in Church Ministries.  Her daughters, Sarah and Hannah May are living with us, too.

My favorite card game is cribbage.
I also like to play Spite & Malice, spades, and gin rummy.

I love to watch musicals. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be "State Fair" by Rogers & Hammerstein or Merideth Wilson's Music Man. My favorite movie/musical is "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" with Steve Martin and Michael Caine.

Recently, I have begun to take an interest in digital film editing. You can check out some of my video lectures, family videos or comic aventures here on my web site.I am also interested in turning digital photos into painted portraits.  You can get an idea of this by looking here.
