I began scanning in photos of my family this summer (2004) in an effort to preserve some of the history for future generations. The first photo below is of my parents in April, 1962, in their first apartment in Chicago. I have removed scratches, clicks and pops from the photo on the left as well as recoloring some of the features. The second picture is from Christmas, 1963, in which Herb & Chris Schurter are with my parents. I know that the resolution of these photos doesn't exactly show all of the precise work that went into the process, so I have included thumbnails that you can click on below each pair which will give you a larger view of each. (Both pictures presented here were scanned, saved, re-sized and presented here in exactly the same format for comparison purposes.)
